Wanted: Personal Assistant
I’m not sure when my life got this busy. I guess the chaos started two years ago when I started graduate school. Then, last year I changed jobs so my commute got much longer. So now, with grad school, a longer commute, 3 kids and a really long “to-do” list my life is a big pile of pandemonium.
Grad school will soon come to an end. But I’ve added a few extra- curricular activities to our week. My son is playing basketball and my daughter is now taking dance lessons. they are having a great time. But for me, this is too much.
I can’t remember the last time I cooked a meal. We eat out so much throughout the week that my kids are now sick of french fries. Instead of asking me if they can go to McDonald’s they ask, “Are you cooking tonight?”
I have to do better. I really need a personal assistant. I need someone to organize my life so I can have a clear plan of what I need to do each day.
An assistant would be well-equipped to schedule my meetings, wake me up on time, answer my phone calls and coordinate my never ending “to-do” list.
I really need some help because my days aren’t getting any longer but my patience is wearing thin. How do you manage your time? What advice can you give a worn-our mom?

Like State Farm I’m there Krystal. I’m a stay-at-home mom/co-preneur with my husband. Between our 4 kids, our business, our relationship and my own needs I am often stretched too thin. Lately writing things down and committing to not over-commit has been helping. Writing it down as opposed to an app helps me put it in perspective and makes it easier to say “no” when I need to.
GIRL. I am right there with you. People’s mouths drop open when they find out that I don’t have an assistant now. It’s madness. Lately I’ve been pretending that I have a “Sweetie” a la RHOA of my very own. Every time I find myself needing an extra set of hands or a task taken care of, I scream: “Sweeeetiiiie!!”
But, ahem, no one shows up.
Hey! You just inspired a blog post
My friend and I have kicked around the idea of dinner co-oping, because I have more free time than she does. I cook dinner four days a week, and she buys the groceries. Or, if you can find a few people to be a part of a group. Everyone cooks one day, and shares with the group.
When our schedule is most hectic, I try to cook ahead on Saturday, refrigerate or freeze until needed. This option takes discipline, but is a real life saver!
