My son had a fever. I gave him a dose of Advil and sent him to school anyway. Fingers crossed, I left for work praying that the daycare wouldn't call me until the end of my workday. (Is this the epitome of neglect or what?)

When I became pregnant with my first daughter, all everyone ever told me was how hard it would be, the things I would have to give up, and about the time I would wish I once had. I would sit some days and ask my little baby, swinging back and forth in her baby swing, “What do I do with you?” She answered swiftly, a reply with a smile. I gave up on trying to be a parent, and something weird happened ... I just was.

It's been 1 day since we started our home school preschool, but my daughter is super excited playing school. She has a back pack, pencils, and packs her lunch. Even though I am planning on having her start regular school for kindergarten, this has really opened my eyes to home schooling in the future.
