Eating French cuisine is TheBomb.com, there's no doubt...but if you have fantasies of becoming a chef or love experimenting in the kitchen, then you'll want to get your hands dirty in a French kitchen, take a culinary tour, and/or go to the open air French markets and shop for seasonal veggies, meat, poultry and cheeses with an expert. Sounds weird, I know but I promise you that it’s true. #nojudging Of course I thought I was the only one who ever experienced this slight change in accent and didn’t want to be accused of having airs, so I’ve never talked about It much. But then I met Andrea Poe on a press trip to Antigua. Andrea is a travel writer that lives between Maryland and New York. I overheard Andrea tell someone that she had It too. In honor of the Brown Girls who travel and then write about it, I'd like to dedicate this post to them (keeping in mind that my definition of Brown is about cultural diversity, identity and pride and not merely skin color). And in honor of the first travel panel that has ever been held at Blogalicious Weekend -- American Airlines BlackAtlas.com presents Go Global! Taking Your Blog Around the World -- I am also dedicating this post to the Brown Girl Travelistas on this panel: Johnica Reed, Julia Coney, Kiratiana Freelon and yours truly. (Am I allowed to dedicate something to myself? *Insert sheepish grin here*) So here's the deal.
